"D911 REHABILITATION"

Dogs need a pack. They live in a pack structure.

It doesn’t matter who you are.
It doesn’t matter whether you are outdoors or indoors.
It doesn’t matter whether you are rich or poor.
They don’t care who you are.

They need to be educated. They need to be in a pack with rules.

They need to be under the control of a handler. (a.k.a. the pack leader)

Think about a child.

Every child needs to be educated.
A child needs to be controlled by his or her parents.
When a child behaves badly, the parents have to be blamed.
What about dogs?
When a dog behaves badly, people tend to blame the dog and not its owner—sometimes they don’t just blame the dog, they have it put to sleep.

Do you have to be rich to take care of a dog?

"If a person can't afford to take care of themselves, why should they have a dog?"

I see that those of us who love animals, just love animals. Once that bond is there, the feeling is strong, regardless of income.

A person’s financial means is not a reflection of their willingness or desire to help animals.

I am privileged to work with some of the best volunteers, making it possible for Doggies 911RF to offer services to dog owners who, for whatever reason, can't afford to care for their dogs.

We have that common link, we love dogs, and that's all that matters.

This is the reason that I founded Doggies 911RF.

《Doggies911 Rehabilitation Foundation Mission》

  • To support local rescue volunteer groups.
  • To train rescued dogs so that they are ready for adoption, and to educate adopters to handle their dogs.
  • To rehabilitate dogs that have behavioral problems.
  • To educate volunteers who wish to be involved in dog rehabilitation.
  • To educate prospective owners before they buy a dog (e.g., educating pet shop owners, free seminars)
  • To support local shelters.

It seems that the number of dogs that are being brought into shelters, or are abandoned or stray never decreases. Even regular de-sexing programs cannot stem the increase in unwanted puppies born. Against this backdrop, the following factors exacerbate the existing problem: people generally do not understand what it takes to be a responsible dog owner; these same people are able to buy a dog easily; and people give up on training their dogs very quickly and easily because they lack the basic knowledge necessary to train dogs.

An easy solution for dog owners to address the behavioral problems of their dogs (usually biting, or problems with neighbors) is to relinquish their dogs. As a result, the reality is that many dogs are being abandoned every day.

We want to educate dog owners that they can solve their problems by training or rehabilitating their dogs. They do not need to abandon them.

It is possible for dog owners who have training problems to ask a dog trainer for help. However, many dog owners cannot afford to pay for a trainer and do not have access to quality dog training.

Often dog owners seek help from their neighborhood pet shop. Often pet shop staff work as dog trainers because it is easy to hold themselves out as such even though they don’t have practical dog training experience. Serious behavioral problems usually cannot be diagnosed and solved by such trainers and eventually the dog owners come to the conclusion to abandon their dogs.

Because of these factors, there is no end to the number of abandoned dogs. Rescue organizations and shelters keep re-homing the same dogs that continue to have the same behavioral problems. So the shelters are weighed down with large numbers of returned dogs.

Most abandoned dogs in shelters have some type of disease or injury as well as a behavioral problem or psychological trauma. The problem is exacerbated by the environment in such shelters.

Although shelters provide adoption services for abandoned dogs, they don’t train or rehabilitate dogs to make them ready for a new home. The shelters are focused on finding dogs new families. As a result, the number of dogs that are returned to shelters continues increasing. A key cause is the high training cost.

Thus, there is no sign that the crowding of shelters will abate any time soon.

The mission of Doggies’ 911 is to help try to solve these problems. We provide free or subsidized training to lower income dog owners. Our involvement in the re-education of a great number of dogs and dog owners will reduce the number of abandoned dogs and enrich the relationship between dogs and their owners.
